Honor Your Husband Challenge: Week 2

Today is the second week of the Honor Your Husband Challenge! I took some time this afternoon to look back on my goals from last week:

~To listen earnestly when Stewart speaks.
~To take some time to think before speaking.
~To find three things each day to compliment Stewart on and to voice that praise TO him.

Evaluating the past week I can tell I still need to continue working on these goals this week. I think I did pretty well listening to Stewart, and I definitely thought of things to praise Stewart about every day. I'm not sure that I voiced it TO him, so I'll have to work on that. And as for my second goal, I did take time to think about what I was saying, it just seemed to be AFTER the fact. So, I need to work on pausing BEFORE I speak this week.

Christine asked us (if we were bold) ;-) to ask our husbands how we could better honor them this week. I did ask Stewart and this was his response:
I would just say that the single thing that you do that provides the most encouragement is to have a positive outlook about something that we are facing, even when things look tough. When I am faltering, your positive attitude brings me back to my feet and gives me the strength to set back to the task, no matter how difficult it is. The more positive your outlook is, even when we're struggling, the more strength I have.

So, this week I will continue working on my original goals, and add two new goals.

~To remain positive, no matter what.
~To read The Power of a Praying Wife (Reading a book doesn't seem like it would directly honor my husband, but I'm finding from the Husband Encouragement Challenge that I need to beef up my prayer life to be able to combat negativity and have the energy to remain positive. I think becoming a better prayer warrior will definitely bless my husband.)
