Thankful Thursday

This picture is of Emily a couple of months after learning to walk. It's on older photo of her, but I love to look back at old photos and on the time we've spent with her so far, and give thanks for the wonderful gift that she is. So, this week I am thankful for....

~Emily! What a treasure she has been in our lives for over 2 years now. I think back to our trouble with miscarriages and this high risk pregnancy and marvel at how perfectly formed and without complications she arrived. I am just so thankful to be blessed with such a wonderful child. Her development never ceases to amaze me.

~Less than 3 months to go! This pregnancy (as most do) has seemed like forever up until this point. I'm suddenly realizing that I'll have another child in less than three months! I am so thankful to be at this point and to be counting down the weeks until we can hold our new daughter for the first time.

~Great friends! This weekend my husband worked on our deck replacing some old boards. Two of our friends heard about the work he was doing and offered their tools, time, and talents to help him out. We are so blessed with the friends God has put into our lives. They are so giving, loving, encouraging and fun to be around. :-D

~My husband! He constantly amazes me with the hard work he puts in around the house. He is such a hard worker, not just on projects like the deck or at work, but here at home in our family life. He works so hard on all fronts to make sure that all needs are being met and that I feel loved.

~Elizabeth George. What a mentor she has been to me throughout my young adulthood. I am currently reading Becoming a Woman of Prayer and I have been so blessed by all the truths I am learning about prayer. I am so thankful for this woman and the hard work she puts into writing these books so that little house wives like me can learn a new thing or two about the Lord.

~My dad. He has been searching for some time now in his relationship with the Lord and on Tuesday night I saw a new lit fire that I haven't seen in quite some time. I am so thankful for his friends down in VA who have encouraged him and for his hard work to get back into the Word. Nothing has made my heart swell more this week than him reciting that Psalm to me. I am so proud of him.
