Thankful Thursday

Today I am so thankful for doctors! It's such a blessing to live in this country and to have such good access to health care. My daughter was diagnosed with croup yesterday and we were able to get her right in for an appointment and the doctor gave her a prescription to help open her airways. (That was my major concern. She had lost a lot of color and was having difficulty breathing.) So, I gave her the medicine yesterday and by this morning she is doing MUCH better! The cough is more productive but hurts her less, I can hear her airways clearing, the color has returned to her face, her eyes aren't so big and puffy, her appetite has returned, she's drinking fluids again, she's still a bit raspy, but she doesn't have to whisper anymore. Praise the Lord for advances in medicine! Years ago children died from croup, and today it is cured with some home remedies and a little dose of steroid. I am so thankful for her quick recovery too. With daughter #2 due practically any day now, I was worried for her safety too. It wouldn't have been so great for her to come into the world with a sick sister at home. So, thanks for praying for those of you who are regulars on my blog. Em is doing MUCH better!

Thanks so much for sharing! It's scary when our children get sick, I think we often take for granted our health care and the ability to go to a doctor whenever we like!
Blessings

Wow, sounds scarey! Glad you were able to get her in to see her doc right away and they gave you something that is helping her!

Praying your little one gets better quickly!

I am thankful too for the doctor that took the time to see Emily and diagnose her properly. I was struck, again, by the thought that as much as I love you and hurt for Emily...God loves you even more! I was so hurting for you, Em, Stew and baby#2...I didn't think it was possible to hurt much more or love much more. But God the Father, loves even more than we can imagine...I am thankful for Him today, and thankful that Em is turning the corner. Love you all, Mom Bee
