Toddler Activity Schedule

As I mentioned in my menu plan, we leave for Michigan on Sunday so this will be my last activity post until we return. The activity schedule has been working really well. I think Emily has enjoyed the set activity every day. I tell her about the activity the night before and she remembers in the morning, which holds me accountable and gives her something to look forward to for the next day. So, since we will be gone for the fourth of July, I will be doing fourth of July activities this week. We bought a book about the flag, and I have been trying to teach her about what it represents. I'll continue to do that this week along with the other activities I have planned.

FOURTH OF JULY WINDSOCK

Have your child paint a cardboard toilet tissue tube blue. When the paint has dried, let her attach silver or white star stickers. Then give her thin strips of red and white crepe paper or ribbon to glue around the bottom of the tube for streamers. To complete, poke two holes on opposite sides of the tube at the top and tie on a yarn or string hanger.

FIREWORKS ART

Place a spoonful of bright colored paint on a piece of black construction paper. Have your child use a toothpick to draw lines of paint out from the paint blob to make a "blossoming fireworks" design. While the paint is still wet, let him add sparkle by sprinkling on a little glitter. If you wish, place more paint on the paper for your child to turn into fireworks.
